The NAACP Providence Branch announced Executive Director of ARISE, Chanda Womack, as the recipient of the Thurgood Marshall Award for her advocacy work. The Thurgood Marshall award is given to individuals who advocate, promote and facilitate the economic, cultural, and social benefits of the people of color in their inclusion in American society.
